community relationship manager/Bath & Frome

the role:

We are seeking a talented and motivated community relationship manager to join the xplore team this month. With responsibility for onboarding and engaging with local independent businesses, the role also relies heavily on building relationships with business owners and driving their participation in the xploreGo app. While a primary focus will be managing business subscriptions and ensuring they understand the value to their business, you will contribute to the growth and development of the local economy.

  • Identify and approach independent businesses across Bath & Frome to promote our mission and gain their participation
  • Travel between and around Bath & Frome, visiting and talking to communities and it’s independent businesses
  • Build strong relationships with business owners and key stakeholders, understanding their needs, challenges and business objectives
  • Present the benefits of and value in being part of the xplore community, emphasising the potential for business growth - increased visibility to a engaged audience and the networking & collaboration opportunities
  • Develop and execute strategic outreach plans to reach a wide range of businesses and ensure maximum participation
  • Work closely with the marketing team to create compelling promotional materials, including presentations, brochures, and social media content
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to xplore businesses, ensuring they actively engage with their followers within the app to see measurable results.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to Gather feedback from businesses and collaborate with internal marketing and product teams to contribute to the continuous improvement of the product
  • Track and report on key metrics and performance indicators, demonstrating progress towards growth targets
  • Stay updated on local business trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities for growth
  • Source, liaise with business & event owners and manage listings on the xplore platform
  • Handle customer service gracefully, with the goal of turning issues into opportunities to create lifelong xplore evangelists

background required

  • Previous experience in community engagement, business development, or sales would be useful but this role would suit a great community ambassador who understands the power of networking. Less sales, more engagement
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively communicate the xplore value proposition to potential business partners
  • Demonstrated track record in meeting and exceeding targets, with the ability to work independently and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple communication streams simultaneously and well
  • Familiarity with the Bristol independent business landscape and the neighbourhoods in which they are based would be an advantage
  • Proficiency in using digital marketing tools and platforms for communication, data analysis, and reporting
  • A real passion for supporting independent businesses and contributing to the growth and vitality of Bath & Frome's local communities
  • Flexibility to attend occasional evening or weekend events, as required
  • Own vehicle with a valid driving licence and clean driving record

  • Self-motivated, self-starter, good at following up leads and work to deadlines
  • Creative problem solver with good troubleshooting skills
