Plant studio
Plant Studio is a vibrant plant shop located at North Street. Founded in 2023 by Devaki Jones, a former freelance photographer seeking a change of pace, the shop has quickly become a beloved destination for plant enthusiasts. The store offers a wide variety of houseplants, including tropicals, succulents, and rare species, catering to both novice and experienced plant parents. In addition to plants, Plant Studio provides a range of plant care products, pots, and gifts, creating a one-stop shop for all things green.
Plant Studio is more than just a retail space; it's a community hub for plant lovers. The shop features a "Potting Bar" where customers can bring in their plants for repotting using custom-made soil mixes, with options for additional support like moss poles and decorative toppings. Workshops are also offered, teaching skills such as terrarium creation and Kokedama (Japanese moss ball planting). Looking ahead, Devaki envisions expanding the shop's offerings to include bedding plants, pollinator-friendly varieties, and herbs, aiming to transform Plant Studio into a mini-market garden centre.
We want to create a space where people can come in, learn, and feel inspired to bring more greenery into their lives.
