Tivoli Theatre
From the bustling life of a popular 1930's picture house showing the latest films of the era, to a run down forgotten building, and finally becoming the beautiful, thriving building we see today, The Tivoli Theatre has certainly been on a journey. Now one of the local hotspots, where big time acts like Jack Dee, Michael McIntyre and Lee Evans have performed, it continues to be loved by the community around it.
This place isn't just loved from the outside though, as in 1991 the community set up the group 'Friends of the Tivoli' in order to restore it to its once great stature. It opened its doors in November 1993 and hasn't looked back since, going from strength to strength. If you're looking for some entertainment, from films and stand up comedy to music, theatre and the laugh out loud seasonal pantomime, there's not a better place for miles!
The Tivoli is one of Dorset's best loved venues.

About
Wimborne Minster
Positioned at the confluence of two rivers, Wimborne is a place of gentle tranquility yet it supports a vibrant selection of independent businesses and a thriving arts scene. At the heart of the town is sited Wimborne Minster, a Saxon church with its celebrated chained library and astronomical clock. This is surrounded by a beautiful selection of historic town houses, pubs, alleyways and squares that encourage a slower less hectic pace of life.
The town supports a host of well-frequented independent shops that sell all manner of unique items including books, children's toys, cookware, fine furniture, plus of course many fine eateries to enjoy in-between. A leisurely lunch at the Tickled Pig is one such way to enjoy a visit to this jewel in the crown of rural Dorset.
