Nibbles Cheese

Owned by charming Frenchman Stephane, Nibbles Cheese has been an institution in the Guildhall Market for 40 years. His in-depth knowledge of cheeses, wine and bacon are built upon invaluable relationships with local farmers and cheese makers to ensure that this long-lasting business brings you the very best produce at all times. Located right in the heart of Bath’s most historic market halls, Nibbles can offer an excellent selection of quality cheese, celebrating both European classics and those locally produced. From the descriptions to the taste awards dotted around the shop, the passion for each product is infectious. There’s a story behind each cheese and every accompanying jelly, preserve or biscuit you can buy. For example, did you know you can purchase a biscuit named the “Doctor Oliver” whose name comes from a legendary physician of the same name, who lived in Bath and happened to be one the founders of the Bath General Hospital alongside Ralph Allen, John Wood and Richard (Beau) Nash? Be sure to ask for advice from Bath’s oldest cheesemongers, for they certainly know their stuff!
